The Colleges
A college is where students live, eat and socialise. It is also the place where students receive small group teaching sessions, known as supervisions.Each college is an independent institution with its own property and income. The colleges appoint their own staff and are responsible for selecting students, in accordance with University regulations. The teaching of students is shared between the Colleges and University departments. Degrees are awarded by the University.
Cambridge University Press is the publishing business of the University of Cambridge. Its purpose is to further the University's objective of advancing knowledge, education, learning, and research. Its extensive peer-reviewed publishing lists comprise 45,000 titles covering academic research, professional development, over 300 research journals, school-level education, English language teaching and bible publishing. Playing a leading role in today's international market place, Cambridge University Press has more than 50 offices around the globe, and it distributes its products to nearly every country in the world.
Cambridge Assessment is Europe’s largest assessment agency and plays a highly influential role in the research and development of school examinations in the UK and around the world. Through its three examination boards it delivers mainstream qualifications to over 8 million candidates a year.
